The Charlie has landed
Charles Dean Eyre Shumway. For those who haven't heard, he entered the world in a rush, born at the Cambridge Birth Center. After an hour of labor in a big jacuzzi tub, Saydi said "guys, I feel like I need to push". When the midwife came in, she decided it was time to transfer to the bed. As Saydi stood up, another contraction hit, so she leaned on Jeff for a few moments and then said "Hey! there's something between my legs". At this point the doula and midwife start lunging for the tub but before they got there Charlie splashed into the tub, snapping the umbilical cord. He was fished out quickly by our trusty doula, Lorenza.
After a few frantic moments while nurses clamped his cord (and his parents trying to figure out what just happened), Charlie opened his eyes and looked around and found the world to his liking.

TOTALLY AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteI have it on good authority that Dean Eyre the first, exactly 85 years older than Charlie Dean, is not only pleased, but was somehow in on the transition and send off.
From: one of the two generations in between.
Hi, Charlie! Your cousins want to meet you.
