Ahhh, the newness of life. One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is meeting little people right after they arrive in the world. I love everything about those first 10 days of life. The swimming movements, the glassy eyes, the angle smiles (or is it gas?). I love their skin and the way the smell. I even love the way they cry. 
This little guy was especially fun to photograph. He was awake for most of the shoot (despite our attempts to lull him into that newborn sleep). But (for the most part) he was calm and quiet and just breathing in the world. 
Can you believe how radiant mom is? Right after giving birth? She has that motherhood glow that I don’t think I ever have. Amazing. 
I probably shouldn’t put this one up, but I think it’s kind of funny, and oh so typical of those first few weeks of parenthood.
