"expanding family" sculpture by Hazel Shumway |
Yep. We're expanding. We'll be adding another little Shumway sometime around March 16th, 2010.
This "construction" is most certainly the culprit of my strong case of the Blahs. I had forgotten how much energy it takes to grow a baby! Between pregnancy, horrible colds all around and the huge shift to kindergarten things have pretty much fallen apart around here. I'm just trying to remind myself that we are under SERIOUS construction. It's ok that things aren't perfectly together and organized and clean and happy. This is a season of life and it won't last forever. In fact, it won't last long at all, so I might as well enjoy the dust, enjoy the afternoon naps and go easy on our little family as we move forward through these new challenges.
So, I'm going to breath and enjoy a little more. Especially since Jeff is calling this one "Ultimo."
Saydi,
ReplyDeleteHurray! That's the best construction project ever! Good luck!!!!
Holly
So glad the news it out! We've been waiting to announce with baited breath. SO exciting!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, ever since I saw you in August, I just had a hunch. Congratulations and good luck! I know how hard it is to keep up with everything and everyone while you are constructing.
ReplyDeleteYIPPPPEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, now I miss you even MORE!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you!
I KNEW it. The Saydi I know doesn't get the blahs w/o good reason!!
ReplyDeleteBig Congrats!!!
So glad to get some confirmation of your continued pregnancy! I ask Jonah for some news nearly every day. I should have just called you myself.
ReplyDeleteUltimo is actually a pretty good name for the baby. Or El Ultimo.
I'm feeling the blahs as well Saydi! Why does it take so much energy to grow a raspberry? I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteOk, what does that say on the counter?
Ok, I'm a little slow... got it...
ReplyDeleteAnother side effect of pregnancy.
Saydi! Hurrah! That's SO exciting! I love your metaphor - "under construction" - I'm not sure anything is more exhausting. Really. This is a sacred time. You keep right on with that no guilt attitude. You're amazing. And that baby is one lucky kid! (Sometimes I wish I were in your family!) :)
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what the world need. Another Saydi/Jeff. Hazel is very clever with those letters.
ReplyDeleteSaydsters--Oh, the energy! Do you have enough to fly out here in two weeks and deliver my baby in the East China sea? Way to go Shumways!
ReplyDeleteSo, so, so happy for all of you! This world could use more Shumways. Happy day!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so happy for you. You were in my dream this morning, full of joy. Then I saw this post, and I realized why.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT: ULTIMO
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear all is well and that the news is 'official'
Wish I were there to see the progress...
Missing you,
S
