charlie gets a hair cut

-6061 Let me begin with a disclaimer: Charlie has been asking for many moons now to get his hair 'buzzed like daddy's'. So to those of you who are mourning the loss of this particular part of his persona, I am too. But fortunately, Charlie has charisma to burn, and seems to be making his way just fine as a young Army recruit.

Saydi’s emotional preparation for losing Charlie's luscious long hair was a bit different than mine. All I can say is that he is one good looking little...guy.

My favorite part of the whole experience was when he kept urging me to 'buzz it more' and pointing to the front of his scalp. 'I want it to look like yours, Daddy'. I was both very flattered at his hero-worship and simultaneously melancholy as I explained male pattern baldness to my son. 'Don't worry, bud. This will all be yours soon enough. Enjoy your follicles while you still can.'

  1. the gene for male pattern baldness actually comes from your maternal grandfather...so he might have that beautiful head of hair for a while.

...but don't worry, I've got a special place in my heart for bald guys too.

  2. I'm so happy that we were there to witness this yearly event! That kids is spectacular no matter which way you "cut it"!

  3. First of all, you are an awesome photographer and i wish I lived close enough to have you take our picture! Second, I cannot believe how big Emmeline is! It's only been about 5 months since I've seen her and she's changed so much! That year really flew. Also, I think Charlie looks so handsome and I think it's hilarious he wanted to look more bald like Jeff! I miss you! thanks for talking the other morning. I love you. You have such a cute family and you are a great mom.
