I haven’t been posting many previews for clients.  Just so much going on!  But I have to document here that I love my job.  I get to see the best parts of family life and capture them with my lens.  I get to get out of my own life and see into another, different, but similar enough in little ways to remind me that life is pretty fantastic.  I love how photography freezes a moment, strips away all the noise and chaos and lets you look into it the present, to see how truly lovely it is.

I loved meeting this couple and their brand new little baby.   During our session no one tried to push anything and in return this little lady did everything just right.  We had a morning filled with baby peace.  I had to tear myself away to go back to my own little (but much louder) darlings.              

Makes me want another one.  Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven with me L and J.  Can’t wait for you to see the rest.

When God wants an important thing done in this world or a wrong righted, He goes about it in a very singular way. He doesn't release thunderbolts or stir up earthquakes. God simply has a tiny baby born, perhaps of a very humble home, perhaps of a very humble mother. And God puts the idea or purpose into the mother's heart. And she puts it in the baby's mind, and then-God waits. The great events of this world are not battles and elections and earthquakes and thunderbolts. The great events are babies, for each child comes with the message that God is not yet discouraged with humanity but is still expecting good-will to become incarnate in each human life.

peace like a river – sneak peek

I loved meeting and photographing this family.  These twins and their little sister were radiant.  Full of energy and light and goodness and love for each other.  And I am completely in love with their back yard.  The light, the colors, and, oh, there’s that river running through it.  Life just feels more peaceful in the presence of a river.

We had a great Halloween afternoon, playing to keep warm while I snapped away.    I’m trying not to comment too much on these photography posts….because I don’t even know these people.  But I really think you can tell a lot from a photograph, and I sense a pretty unique bond between these two twins.  Made me think of me and my little brother Jonah.  We always used to pretend we were twins.      

    

Aren’t families beautiful?  I am in love with family life, especially through the lens of my camera.

I  really do love my job.

I loved photographing little Alice and her family again.  That little spark in her eyes as a baby is still there.  She was full of life and energy and childhood magic.   And her parents were full of love for who she is.  I just can’t get over how much I loved her art and her room and her books, her ballet and tea party, her blonde hair and painted nails.  This is what every childhood should be.
